I’m not sure where the day went but suddenly our apartment had a few visitors and we were watching the Santa Parade in the warmth, drinking mulled cider and munching on snacks, whilst the people outside were huddled in blankets and very cold! One of the perks of living above the main street! The Santa Parade was very impressive, lots of colourful, brightly lit floats some with nativity scenes or Christmas presents or beautiful Christmas trees but the highlight for us was seeing the Kawartha Komets float with Shanah, and Elizabeth, waving up to us! The Kawartha Komets igive people with special needs a chance to play ice hockey – their motto is “making dreams come true”.
We then went off, a bit late, to the Arrowsmith Christmas Pot luck – lots of fabulous food, I should have taken a photo of the table groaning with all the different dishes everyone bought to share! Such a lovely night, chatting to the mums, dads and grandparents whilst Simon joined in what he described as the “best ever” game of hide and seek!
